Jason Francis
Jason Francis is a fire service and emergency medical professional with extensive experience in emergency response, leadership, education, and curriculum development. He has served in multiple operational and instructional roles, bringing real-world perspective to both classroom and hands-on training environments.
Jason has a background in fire and emergency services as a firefighter/paramedic, with experience that informs both his operational decision-making and his instructional approach. He remains actively involved in EMS and fire service education, delivering instruction in CPR, First Aid, AED, Wilderness First Aid, and emergency care programs for the public, scouts, and professional responders. His teaching approach emphasizes practical application, patient-centered care, and decision-making under pressure.
He holds an Associate of Science (AS) in Occupational Safety and Health and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Occupational Safety and Health with a focus in Fire Science. He also completed the Ohio Fire Executive Program in 2021 and holds the Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) credential.
Jason is the author of A Basic Guide to Small Engine Repair, written for both the public and the fire service, and has authored several articles focused on emergency services, training, safety, and practical skills. His work bridges technical knowledge with operational relevance and reflects a commitment to accessible, real-world learning.
In addition to instruction and writing, Jason designs and builds curriculum for the fire service, including Foundations of Leadership and Fire Officer I, II, and III, small engine repair, and electrical programs. His curriculum development centers on leadership growth, organizational readiness, workforce safety, and operational effectiveness.
Jason is the founder of The Francis Hub, established in 2025 to share his passion for small engines, hands-on learning, and community education. What began with the release of his book evolved into a broader mission: equipping individuals and organizations with practical skills, safety knowledge, and career-ready competencies.
His professional background spans small engine repair, residential electrical work, commercial electrical work, public safety, and occupational safety. This diverse experience allows him to blend technical expertise with applied instruction, helping learners build confidence, competence, and practical problem-solving skills.
A proud 1997 graduate of Anthony Wayne Local Schools in Whitehouse, Ohio, Jason continues to expand his expertise while giving back to the community that shaped him. He and his wife, Lyndsey, have been married for 23 years and reside in the Anthony Wayne area, where they remain active contributors to the community.
